Step into a colourful Autumn Forest and help young learners explore the season through interactive English activities! 🍂🌲
This lesson is designed for preschool and kindergarten learners who are beginning to build their English vocabulary and speaking confidence. Children travel through an autumn forest together with the characters, observe what they can see around them, search for hidden objects, discover mushrooms and berries, and complete simple interactive challenges.
During the lesson, students learn and practise useful autumn and forest vocabulary, including leaf, acorn, cone, bark, mushroom, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry. New words are introduced visually with clear picture cards and can be supported with audio, making the material suitable even for very young learners and children who are not yet reading independently.
The lesson includes a variety of activities to keep children engaged and actively involved. Students look for mushrooms and a hidden hedgehog, decide which mushrooms are safe to touch, explore different forest objects through a Touch & Feel activity, identify berries, match pictures with their shadows, collect autumn items and complete playful visual tasks.
Children also practise important early language skills such as listening, recognising vocabulary, naming objects, making choices and answering simple questions. Activities such as “What can you see?”, “Find the Mushrooms”, “Find the Hedgehog”, “Good or Bad?”, “Pick the Berries” and “Match It!” provide repeated exposure to the target vocabulary without turning the lesson into repetitive drilling.
The final Autumn Basket activity encourages students to review the vocabulary they have learned and choose different autumn objects independently. The lesson finishes with a fun game moment, helping children associate English learning with exploration, movement and positive emotions.
This interactive lesson is perfect for online English lessons, interactive whiteboards, individual classes and small groups. It can be used as a complete seasonal lesson or as part of an autumn-themed English course for young learners.
